Unlike Avid, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a live tech support person on the phone at Corel/Roxio. Apparently Avid/Pinnacle was acquired by Corel Corporation a few years ago. I owned Pinnacle Studio Version 14 for many years and it worked great. I am learning first hand why the once huge company lost it's market wars with Microsoft and has been reduced to an unknown name. In a nutshell, I highly recommend you avoid this product and anything else produced by Corel. In reviewing Corel's policies for returns and replacements, I found that the company has an extremely user un-friendly policy, despite the common problems with the product. In this case, I did not come close to getting what I paid for and I regret the purchase. I bought this software because of it's price relative to other similar products. I had a week to do it and could not resolve the problems with this software. I bought this to make a collage for my brothers funeral. I have been using Pinnacle studio version 9-14 for 10 years. If the customer support tells the truth, then about 80 computers on the market wont work with Pinnacle Studio 18. Contact with customer service revealed more time consuming, "possible" fixes for the problem. My laptop is HP Envy i7 Quad-core (8 cpus x 2.4 GHZ), 16 GB ram, 1 TB HD, 1920x1080 display.
